Materials: wood, plywood, MDF, felt, powder-coated metal
Dim: W=312 mm, D=600 mm, H=1350 mm
The Kozlik hallway bench and coat rack concept is an elegant, minimalist solution that combines functionality with contemporary design. It brings three essential hallway elements together into one cohesive piece: a comfortable felt-upholstered seat, a powder-coated metal shoe rack, and a built-in clothes rail with added versatility. The bench offers a cosy seat, while the shoe rack below provides practical storage for footwear. The vertical rail features several hooks for coats, bags, and hats, as well as a small round tray for everyday essentials like mobile phones or keys.
This project also entered the Young Balkan Designers competition, where it secured first place. A prototype was created as part of the winning entry, but it never went into production. After some time, I returned to the concept and began exploring ways to refine it by simplifying some of the manufacturing processes while preserving the original idea and distinctive aesthetic. That is why the project has now been named Kozlik 2.0, reflecting how it has evolved from the original design.
The association with a goat is no coincidence: it evokes memories of my childhood and school years, when in PE class we would leap over the «vaulting goat». It’s a gymnastics apparatus with an unusual, memorable leg design. This imagery became a key source of inspiration for the project.
